As a longtime beauty editor, writer, podcaster, and on-air host, I’ve tried thousands of beauty products over the years. When it comes to deciding what to buy at Sephora (especially when you’re on a tight budget), I’d say I’m a master shopper.
I recently decided to challenge myself to budget just $150 to shop at my favorite beauty store. It wasn’t easy, but I can say it was a solid choice for me.

PHLUR Missing Person Body Wash
I’m a huge fan of PHLUR’s body care products and I definitely needed to get their favorite body wash, Missing person, back in stock. This sulfate-free, coconut-derived gentle body cleanser is “brought to life” by white musk and fused with a soft, clear woody scent. If you need a new body wash that you’ll actually look forward to using, you can’t go wrong with this one.
MARA SeaDream Firming Algae Cream Moisturizer
I really like all of the MARA products I’ve tried so far, but this new moisturizer seems perfect for my dry and sensitive skin. According to the brand, this formula is cloud-like and intensely moisturizing and infused with vegan stem cells, plant peptides, and seaweed to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil
If you know me, you know that I’m obsessed with a good lip oil. As a new fan of this brand’s lip butter balms (try the mint one when it’s back in stock, you’ll thank me later), I’m very intrigued by their new Dream Lip Oil. According to Summer Fridays, this luxurious oil “glides on like a dream” for a glossy yet non-greasy effect.
K18 Non-rinse Molecular Repair Hair Mask
First, it’s important to note that the $29 version of this product is only 0.5 ounces, so it’s basically a travel size. My $150 budget didn’t leave me with enough money to splurge on the full size (a whopping $75), but I don’t really mind buying a smaller bottle of a product I haven’t tried yet. This way, you can try it out first and see if you like it before investing $75 on a hair mask. Winner of Allure’s “Best of Beauty” award, this mask works on all hair types and textures to repair damaged ends and breakage. It’s advertised as being able to repair damage “in minutes,” so I had to try this potential miracle for myself.
