- An investigation has begun into a knife attack in east London on Saturday night.
A 17-year-old boy has died after being stabbed in east London.
Police and emergency services were called to Hackney Road, Shoreditch, near the junction with Kremer Street, at around 10.50pm on Saturday.
The victim suffered stab wounds and died at the scene.
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, who commands police in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, said: “Our thoughts are with the families of the young men who tragically lost their lives.”
“We assure them that we will work relentlessly to identify the perpetrators of this murder.
“A cordon has been set up on Hackney Road for a forensic examination of the scene and a very thorough investigation has been launched, with support from experts from across the Met.
“Local people will also be carrying out extra patrols in Shoreditch.
“If you have any concerns or information, please speak to those officers.
“They’re there to support you.”
A post-mortem examination and formal identification have not yet been carried out.
No arrests have been made.
