Gary Oldman’s black taxi broke down in rainy London this week while filming the new series of Slow Horses.
The 65-year-old actor is in the capital to continue filming the fifth installment of the hugely popular Apple TV+ thriller.
He looked smart in a gray suit, white shirt and checked scarf as he worked on filming new scenes.
However, a run-down taxi on set broke down, forcing the crew to stop mid-way, and the scene had to be abandoned as a second taxi was unavailable.
The series stars Harry Potter actor Gary as Jackson Lamb, a member of the MI5 agency who battles all the obstacles that come his way.
It was announced in January that Slow Horses had been renewed for a fifth season.
Filming for Season 4 will take place in the spring of 2023 and has already been completed, but a release date has not been set.
The five-time BAFTA-nominated series was praised by fans for its season three finale in late December, calling it “amazing” and praising the filmmakers’ “quality writing.”
Since first airing in 2022, Slow Horses has been hailed as “arguably the best spy series on TV” and “intense, funny and intriguing.”
All three seasons of the show have earned Certified Fresh scores on Rotten Tomatoes, and the series continues to receive worldwide acclaim from critics and fans alike.
In Season 5, everyone suspects that resident tech geek Roddy Ho has an attractive new girlfriend, but as a series of strange events occur around town, they wonder how everything is connected. It will be a slow horse’s job to figure out if there are any.
After all, Jackson Lamb knows that in the world of espionage, the “London Rules” should always apply.
Fans are praising Slow Horses’ “amazing” Season 3 finale and creator Gary’s “quality writing.”
Following an initial batch of episodes that received near-perfect ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, the final episode was released on Apple+ at the end of December.
The spy thriller concluded its latest season with an episode filled with betrayal and shocking discoveries at Slough House.
Among the episode’s bombshells is Katherine Standish’s (Saskia Reeves) implication that Jackson Lamb was involved in the death of traitorous former MI5 chief Charles Partner (Game of Thrones’ James Faulkner). I made a discovery.
River and Louisa manage to escape from the facility, and Shirley joins them at the hatch and narrowly manages to get them out. This means they were successful in removing and destroying the files from the facility.
However, Sean Donovan does not make it out of the facility alive and is killed by the MI5 agents tasked with taking him and the others out.
In the end, it turns out that River was fooling her grandfather because she kept a copy of the file in her car, and then River tells her that Ingrid Tierney has to pay for killing Alison Dunn. I believed it and leaked it.
Fans are excited about the finale and are already demanding the release of season 4.
One person said, “The finale of Slow Horses was amazing. The quality of the writing is second to none.”
“Another solid season of Slow Horses,” one viewer wrote. Why don’t we hear more about this show? People should be excited about it.”
Filming for Season 4 will take place in the spring of 2023 and has already been completed, but a release date has not been set.
Season 3 of Slow Horses has a near-perfect approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the days leading up to its premiere, early reviews by critics placed it at the top of movie review websites.
Shortly after the series premiered, Empire praised the series as a “beautifully crafted, high-class drama” that was “worthy” of its BBC One slot.
they write: “This horse flies as much under the radar as a cast of unlikely superspies, but it’s darker than it is slow.
“A beautifully made, high-end drama worthy of BBC One’s primetime slot. If you’ve ever experienced this, this should be reason enough to bite the bullet.”
The AV Club noted that the drama was “still hugely entertaining” in its latest installment, while the Evening Standard praised the drama’s “diabolical backflip plot”.
Playlist writes: “In an age when streaming shows are often overwhelmed by episode orders that writers can’t keep up with, a show like this that doesn’t pack any fat into its six episodes… There’s something very fresh about it.”
It’s never a downer, but at the same time it’s not an over-the-top action show either.
It allows for the right balance of plot and character, often moving the two forward at the same time. ”
Before taking on the lead role of Jackson Lamb in the series, Gary hinted that he was considering retiring from acting after nearly 50 years.
Appearing on Virgin Radio’s Skye Chris Evans Breakfast Show, Gary said: “I think Lamb gives the impression to the world that he doesn’t care, maybe more so than other people.” “Maybe he’s doing it,” he said.
“Maybe he’s trying to pack it all in. He’s kind of treading water and looking at the clock until he retires.”
“But like many of us, sometimes we just want to walk away and pack it all in, we’ve become kind of addicted to what we’re doing.
Slow Horses is now available to stream on Apple TV+.
