Every summer, GOAL publishes an exclusive list of 25 players who have consistently delivered top-class performances and proven themselves to be truly elite.
World class… it’s the intangible but important tag that separates good teams from great teams. But it’s a very subjective term. Every football fan has their own definition, their own criteria, and it sparks endless and entertaining debates in stadiums, dressing rooms, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs around the world.
So, last summer, goal We decided to join in the fun by compiling an exclusive list of 25 players that we believe represent the game’s elite, the best players, and those who have performed brilliantly over an extended period of time.
To avoid focusing solely on the offensive line (as is almost always the case when it comes to individual awards and honors), I stipulated that at least three players from each position group (goalkeeper, defense, midfield, attack) be included, with a maximum of nine players from each position group.
Now it’s time to decide who will remain in the World Class Club and who will be politely asked to leave. So who makes it into this year’s list of the 25 Strongest? Find out the answers below and express your approval or indignation in the comments…
