Gerwyn Price has slammed the situation in the Players Championship, calling it “pathetic”.
The Welshman withdrew from the PDC tournament in Wigan midway through his match against Brendan Dolan.
Price, 38, had already beaten the likes of Karel Sedlacek and Matthew Dennant before the third round.
Despite looking good, he lost 4-2 to Dolan and decided to call it quits.
Mr Price slammed Robin Park Tennis Center’s “amateur” conditions and explained his reasons for leaving on social media.
He wrote: “It is a truly dire situation.
“To play in a professional game you have to come all the way to Wigan and play in below-amateur conditions.
“I have never given up on the game.
“Well, I’ll be leaving tomorrow too.
“Today’s game was really good and I was really relying on events like this so I was disappointed.”

Meanwhile, Price is currently in fourth place on the Premier League darts table.
He picked up three points, just behind the likes of Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith.
The Players Championship is the first opportunity for darts stars to earn points towards the world rankings since the World Champion Ally Pally extravaganza.
World Series and Premier League darts do not count towards player rankings.
