The owner of an independent hair salon is overjoyed as she moves into new, larger premises in a Suffolk town, sparking an emotional response from her customers.
Georgia Ring, 26, moved her business, Nair’s Retreat Beauty Salon, from the Nowton estate to Bedell Close, Bury St Edmunds, where she now lives with her partner.
Since moving in at the end of January, the self-employed beauty therapist has steadily expanded her client base, which she admits was a big factor in her move.
“The real reason I decided to design the salon and make it so much better than the last one was because my amazing women deserve it,” Georgia said.
“They deserve to be treated in a nice room where they can feel calm and relaxed and with people they feel comfortable with. Being able to do that and see their reactions is just that. That’s what I came here for.

“Some women were crying when they came in because they were so overwhelmed and so proud of me. Honestly, they’re just the nicest people.
“On top of that, my family has been very supportive and they keep telling me how proud they are of me, which is really nice to hear.”
Georgia, 23, opened her own beauty salon in her parents’ home in April 2021, but lost her customer base when the spa she worked at closed.
She currently has around 60 customers and is hoping to welcome new customers as she upgrades her new salon to another location in Bury.
Georgia said, “When I was in college, I wanted to become self-employed and open my own salon, but everyone has small dreams that they don’t think will come true, so when I was 16 years old, I I think I would do that,” he said. I feel very proud of myself when I think about it.
“Coming here, my customer base is already good, but it’s really exciting and we have more room so we can take on more customers.
“Honestly, the past week or so has really surprised me and it’s just been incredible.
“I feel like this is the beginning of our life. We’re in our own house and I own a room that my parents don’t have, so everything feels really good.” I am.”
After moving into a new home with her partner Jed Riley, 26, Georgia’s salon now has twice as much room as her previous salon.
She is also rebranding the business, including a new logo, and is considering introducing new treatments.
Despite the recent move, Georgia is already making plans for the future, with the aim of moving to a separate building in the gardens in the future and eventually opening a beauty salon in the center of town. There is.
