The “Sephora Kids” trend has exploded on social media, with viral posts on video-sharing app TikTok showing young people across the country flocking to beauty and skincare retailer Sephora.
In her videos, the young skincare fan not only shares her skincare and beauty routines, but also how she goes shopping and often “carries” expensive products.
Sephora staff also posted videos of “Sephora Kids” scrambling to find the most talked-about products, trashing displays and causing chaos in the store.

Young Americans aren’t just picking up the latest trending makeup products, they’re also picking up products specifically aimed at anti-aging, such as retinol, which can disrupt young skin’s barrier. .
The most popular brands among the Alpha generation born between 2010 and 2024 are Drunk Elephant, Glow Recipe, Summer Fridays, and Sol De Janeiro.
However, these brands’ products also contain anti-aging active ingredients, which can have negative effects on both your skin and your mental health.
In an interview with GB News America, psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Bober warned that the impact social media trends are having on young people could cause long-term damage.

Dr. Bober explained: “The beauty industry is monetizing the insecurities of these young children in ways that can have very negative effects later on, whether contributing to depression, eating disorders, or other types of mental illness.” I think it’s becoming more and more.
