Gemma Collins apologized on Tuesday after causing a “storm” with her “disgusting” behavior at a London restaurant.
The former TOWIE star, 43, was looking at houses in Hampstead with friend Jedward and his pet dog last month when they stopped by Oak and Poppy for breakfast.
Gemma’s dog Blue was seen proudly standing next to her on a chair and digging into a plate of scrambled eggs and sausage.
She said in the video: “He only eats at the table and he loves eggs!”
Fans were quick to take to the comments section of the “disgusting” video, slamming the reality star for being “unhygienic” and “sneaky.”
Gemma captioned her Instagram update: “Our love for Hampstead’s dogs is the next level of joy and happiness they bring to our lives.”
“Why aren’t places everywhere more dog-friendly? This is great, but please tell me all the places that are dog-friendly.”
Regarding the backlash to her new self-titled podcast this week, she said, “I couldn’t stand Blue eating scrambled eggs off the plate.” I love dogs more than myself. It’s taken over my entire life. I am officially a dog mom.
“Anyway, I caused a huge storm. And, you know, I have to apologize. Yeah, I shouldn’t let the dog eat my plate at a restaurant.
“It was a little too much, but I just love my dog. And I’m sorry to anyone I offended.
“I had no intention of causing any harm. I spend a lot of time in Hampstead because it’s a dog-friendly place, and this is where you hear it first.”
In the comments section of the original clip, a fan wrote: “Oh Gemma I’m so sorry this is awful.” It’s very unsanitary. ”
Another agreed: “I’m all for dog-friendly places.” I have two Black Labs, but I don’t want to use the dishes after my dog eats, even if I wash them. Just say it. ‘
“That’s disgusting. I would never let my dog do that to my plate. Even in public!” said another.
However, not all of Gemma’s 2.2 million followers hated the video, with others calling it “adorable” and asking which restaurants allow dogs.
Gemma was checking out the local area as she was considering moving to Hampstead.
If she moves to Hampstead, Gemma will have no shortage of famous neighbors, with Ricky Gervais, Helena Bonham Carter and Jonathan Ross living in the area.
