Today is roman martyrology Souvenir St. Juliana, Virgin and Martyr (c. 305). St. Juliana was a Christian virgin from Cumae, Italy who refused to marry a Roman governor and was martyred for her faith. She endured a terrible ordeal and was eventually beheaded. According to one tradition, Juliana was actually martyred at Nicomedia, and her relics were moved to Cumae.

Meditation—The Tree of Knowledge and the Cross

Saint Juliana of Nicodemia
Saint Juliana was martyred during the persecutions of Emperor Diocletian. Both the Latin and Greek Churches mention Holy Martyr Juliana in their lists of saints. There is a station Santi Giovanni e Paolo (St. John and St. Paul)
The present-day Coelian hill station was named after two brothers who were officials at the Roman court. Because they refused to renounce Christ, they were beheaded on June 26, 362.
