As part of the partnership, Aktiv will debut its latest strength training equipment at Freemotion’s IHRSA trade show this March.
iFIT’s commercial equipment division, Freemotion Fitness, and Aktiv Solutions, a commercial and home gym design company specializing in movement-based training, have partnered to strengthen their respective distribution networks.
The agreement will allow Freemotion to leverage its global market reach and represent Aktiv’s specialized equipment, solutions and facility design capabilities. In return, Aktiv will expand representation of his Freemotion equipment and support the brand’s global customer reach.
The partnership comes after Aktiv appointed Mike Kelley as its new vice president of global sales last month to grow into key markets, enter into sales partnerships and introduce new products.
“Together, we are poised to open new markets and drive our growth trajectory,” said Freemotion Fitness CEO Mark Watterson. “Together, we will be stronger and able to deliver unparalleled fitness solutions to an evolving industry.”

The partnership will also result in “joint ventures” at industry events and shows, starting with IHRSA 2024, where Aktiv will present the recently launched Gym Rax Smith within Freemotion’s trade show on March 7th and 8th. First look at 3D Trainer.
The partnership will also benefit the two fitness brands as they aim to redefine the fitness equipment landscape with a variety of products and services to meet the evolving needs of operators.
“At Aktiv, we believe that successful fitness facilities offer more than simple functionality and utility; they deliver an experience,” said Brian Green, founder and CEO of Aktiv Solutions. “Movement-based modalities will continue to dominate the exercise floor as operators become more creative. Our partnership with Freemotion expands our ability to provide the most comprehensive and impactful solutions for commercial clients everywhere. Your abilities will be strengthened.”
Watterson added that the partnership is not just about product, but about creating a “collective impact” for customers. Freemotion specifically collaborated with Orange Theory Fitness to develop the OTF REFLEX treadmill, which reduces impact forces when running by 29%.
“We know the Aktiv team well and believe in the power of collaboration to drive innovation and improve the fitness experience for our customers,” Watterson said.
Freemotion will be at booth #847 at IHRSA 2024, and Aktiv will be showcasing the new Smith 3D TrainerTM on March 7th and March 8th.
