We announced Frank Stone’s casting at the Game Awards last December, and we couldn’t be happier with the response.
Not only was it one of the most talked about titles at the event, but like many of us here at Dead by Daylight, we’re genuinely excited for people to dive deeper into our world with a standalone narrative experience. It was great to see them do it. Expanding the world of Dead by Daylight with the guys at Supermassive Games has been nothing short of thrilling.
Just premiered on Dead by Daylight 8th To mark the occasion, Frank Stone’s new gameplay trailer offers a chilling look at the cast of characters, the Cedar Hills setting, and the unspeakable horrors that await them.
In the summer of 1980, the quaint town of Cedar Hills was the backdrop for the first foray into filmmaking for four young aspiring filmmakers. Armed with Super 8 cameras, they set out to make their mark on horror cinema with the soon-to-be cult classic and darkly affecting film Murder Mill.
Four friends trying to make their mark on horror movies.
Unbeknownst to them, the bloody history of the Cedar Hills Steel Mill was far more horrifying than any script they could have imagined. Was it fate, or something more sinister, that drew the up-and-coming writers here? Their films reveal the long-forgotten secrets of the town’s notorious serial killer, Frank Stone When they uncover it, they will find themselves drawn into a web of cosmic horror beyond their understanding.
In true Supermassive Games style, The Casting of Frank Stone presents players with a dark, branching story and countless sinister threads to pull. Every conversation you choose, every decision you make will be reflected in your script. And that may be the only thing between life and death for this group of young friends.
This is a story where the unexpected lurks around every turn, and the choices you make can have consequences that affect the very fabric of reality itself.
As the story progresses, players will face horrors beyond their comprehension.
Players must carefully consider every action they make as they explore this cinematic nightmare. Environmental puzzles and quick-time events await to test your wits. You’ll also need a keen eye for clues that reveal the bigger picture as you guide your characters through haunted locations.
“The world of Dead by Daylight has always been filled with deep stories,” said Dave Richard, Dead by Daylight Senior Creative Director. “But games themselves have limitations when it comes to how they tell those stories. The Casting of Frank Stone explores these stories through an all-new cinematic experience based entirely on player choices. can.”
Made for horror fans of all kinds, whether you have Dead by Daylight experience or not, The Casting of Frank Stone takes players on the ground floor of a terrifying new story.

“We’re able to delve deeper into the killer’s origin story and really make the player a part of it, which is unlike anything we’ve done before,” adds Dave. “Everything is still linked to the Entity, but this story unfolds in our world away from the trials of Dead by Daylight, and that’s very interesting to us.”
The Casting of Frank Stone will be released later this year, but until then, we have a road to exciting releases packed with lots of great new information.
