Women can be beautiful and confident at any age. And one grandma is on a mission to prove it.
Jacqueline Hooton, 61, from West Sussex, is known for fighting aging with fitness. She’s showing women over 50 that they can stay great and healthy at any age, and her latest photo shows it in plenty.
The grandmother recently shared a throwback snapshot from 1981, but she is completely unrecognizable in the photo. People can’t appreciate how great she looks and think she’s living proof that getting older is “sexy”.

In both the pictures, Jacqueline was seen wearing a silver sparkling dress. One was taken 43 years after her than the other one, but she still looks great in both photos. In fact, she could even argue that she looks more confident at 61 years old.
She looks strong, happy and healthy and isn’t afraid to show off her long legs and gray hair. Jacqueline wanted to show that fitness is a “lifelong journey” and she proved how great she can look no matter her age if she works on her fitness.
She said that if you work hard, be consistent, and take the time to take care of your health, growing older can be a lot of fun.
“Your mission, if you choose to embrace it, is to be consistent. Fitness is a lifelong journey, not a 12-week change,” Jacqueline wrote on Instagram.
“And you’re never too old, and it’s never too late to start. So (if you haven’t started yet) start now. Rather than adding years to your life, you’re adding years to your health. By increasing, you add life to your life.” However, increasing longevity is often a byproduct.
“If you do this for the rest of your life, you’re almost certainly going to run into challenges along the way (I’ve had three shoulder surgeries and have osteoarthritis).” You will need to adapt and modify your “how” and physical approach. As you grow, you will take on various challenges.
“My life story is from 18 to 61, from 1981 to 2024. I have five children, three grandchildren were born, two London Marathons, numerous marathons. I have run half marathons, races of various distances, and was a competitive bodybuilder. I have been strength training for 28 years and have been involved in physical activity all of my adult life.
“I’m a personal trainer, but I’m not an athlete. I may be average when it comes to physical fitness, but I’m outstanding when it comes to consistency. I feel like my body has to last another 40 years. He’s alive. Yes, I’m aiming for him.”
Furthermore, she added: “I’m not just talking about survival or extending lifespan, I’m talking about healthspan. Because it’s not about what we look like, it’s about how we look as we get older. Because how you feel and how you function matters. The challenge is to maintain physical function, muscle strength, cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and reduced risk of accelerated aging.
“Well then, Chapter 61 begins. Thank you for being my Ride or Die teammates. Let’s go!”
Since she shared the post, more than 29,000 people have liked it, and her followers were quick to comment. She told Jacqueline that her followers think she looks “glamorous” and that they love the messages she sends through her platform.
One person said, “You look so amazing and so beautiful in photos sometimes! Thank you for always being an inspiration to women of all ages!”
Another wrote: “Love you. You look so fun and sexy as you age.” A third said: “Maturity. Nature has a wonderful way of encompassing knowledge, wisdom, experience and beauty!”
Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Love seeing you look more confident later in life than you did at 18. Posting your first photo at 18 That’s understandable, considering we didn’t expect a thousand people to see it, but.” It’s very refreshing. ”
