Sir David Attenborough’s latest groundbreaking TV series focuses on how animals use sound to communicate, thrive and survive in their natural world.
Each episode of the three-part series tells the detailed stories of eight animals, followed by five minutes of behind-the-scenes footage using specially calibrated cameras and the latest sound technology, including laser vibrometers. Continue.

In a first look at the series, Sir David said: “The natural world is filled with sound, and for some animals, sound is the key to survival.
“Cutting-edge audio technology now allows us to record sounds that we cannot hear. Sound can mean the difference between life and death.
“It’s time to open your ears to a life you’ve never heard before.”
Sir David explains how unhatched caimans communicate in their eggs, how lions and hyenas use sound to fight in the dark, and how fish and birds make eerie sounds. Look for mimicry etc.
