Viewers got their first look at Season 3 of Embark Studios’ hit FPS “The Finals” via the new season launch trailer that was revealed at Summer Game Fest Live.
Season 3 is set to begin on June 13th and will bring more weapons, new maps, new gadgets, and the return of the permanent mode, Terminal Attack.
The new map, the arena “Kyoto 1568”, is inspired by the real-life city of Kyoto and features Japanese-inspired map elements, including cherry blossom trees in full bloom, a 16th-century temple, beautiful gardens, and dense bamboo forests that provide great hiding spots. The Kyoto 1568 arena stands out from the game’s other maps with its rugged, urban feel. Kyoto 1568 is also unique in that it features a large amount of terrain variation, with interconnected buildings, mountainous areas, and hidden underground tunnels that players can travel through. Players can also shoot through the shoji paper walls of various buildings.
Additionally, all player builds will receive new weapons and gear designed to match the aesthetic of the new map. New items include:
- Recurve Bow (Light Weapon)
- Thermal bore (light gadget)
- Dual Wielding (medium melee weapon)
- Spear (Heavy Melee Weapon)
- Winch claw (heavy duty special)
Final Season 3 also introduces the World Tour, a new event series designed to challenge players. The World Tour pits players against each other in in-game events and tournaments with unique combinations of rules, loadouts, locations and rewards. Winning in the World Tour will earn players a place on the leaderboard and a World Tour badge that will rank up through Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers based on skill. Players can also earn Multi-Bucks if they beat the competition at the end of the season.
The Finals is free to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
