Chapter 1 bookstore, 252 Main Street offers a jigsaw puzzle exchange. This is a great opportunity to get new puzzles for free.
Papercraft will be offered in the open-end studio from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Photographer Christy Hager and a traveling exhibit of 28 photos of dams, power plants, missile bases, and bridges across Montana will be on view at Explore the ARTS from February 1-29. Mr. Hager is scheduled to give a presentation on his own research on Saturday, February 10th at 1:30 p.m.

pause for poetry, The culture crawl, hosted by Explore the ARTS’ Main Street Gallery (701 Main St.), will begin from 11 a.m. to noon and feature local authors sharing their work. Everyone can share their favorite poems and short stories, and support local poets by attending readings. What does the new year mean to you? Come share a new piece of writing or something from the past that brings you joy!

explore art This February, we will be featuring the work of photographer Christy Hager.
For the past 25 years, Mr. Hager has photographed dams, power plants, missile bases, and bridges throughout Montana on behalf of the Historic Landmark Survey (HABS) and the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER). We have preserved a visual record of these historic buildings. .
With the help of the Missoula Museum of Art, Hager has curated a state-wide traveling exhibit of 28 images from his collection. The exhibition will be held at his Explore the ARTS from February 1st to 29th.Mr. Hager will present at 1:30 p.m.
Explore the ARTS will feature live musicians from noon to 3 p.m. during the Culture Crawl, including a break for Christy Hager’s presentation at 1:30 p.m.

Musicians Jacqueline Brazil, Pam Small, Mike Schachte and Tim Etzell will entertain visitors with guitar, fiddle, mandolin, lute and piano from noon to 3 p.m., with a break at 1:30 p.m. .
Clay work!with bitterroot, 325 West Main, will host the first throw of the year at the annual Empty Bowls event held in the fall. Potters are welcome to come make bowls to donate to the Empty Bowls fundraiser.
You can also purchase a beautiful ceramic heart created last month to support HEARTism, a local non-profit certified autism center. HEARTism provides a safe place for children and teens to grow in our community.
art city407 West Main, hosts its annual “Art to HeART” show, featuring embroidery, crochet, wire, beads, ceramics, potholders, ornaments, jewelry, cards, and more, all beautifully and humorously handcrafted. Unique Valentine art is on display.
Artist Vevan Jan invites potters to his clay workshop! in the first throw of the year for the annual Empty Bowl at the Bitterroot. Jan is also participating in Art City’s “Art to HeART” show, which showcases unique handmade Valentine art.

Bitterroot Public Library, the lower level of 306 State Street is hosting the Cabin Fever Book Sale. Sponsored by Friends of the Bitterroot Public Library, this sale offers a wide variety of used books in good condition at low prices for adults, youth, and children. The sale will also feature DVDs, audiobooks, collector’s sets, and ephemera spanning a wide range of interests. The selection is particularly rich in Montana, Western, and outdoor-themed titles. All proceeds will be donated to the library. Books, DVDs, and audiobooks cost $2 per inch, or $20 for a library canvas tote with as many books as you need. Collectible books and ephemera are an additional charge.
