Ahead of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships this August, we’re giving you an exclusive first look at special plush toys, deck boxes, and more that will only be available at the world. The Pokémon World Championships takes place in a different city each year, with a corresponding Pokémon Center pop-up selling exclusive merchandise aligned with the theme. This year’s Pokémon World Championships will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu, so naturally the merchandise lineup is tropical, colorful, and beachy.
“This year’s unique items and motifs are inspired by Hawaii’s vibrant marine life and abundant flora, embodying the spirit and beauty of the islands,” explains Cindy Ruppenthal, senior director of Pokémon Centers and e-commerce, The Pokémon Company International. “The pop-up store design and World product line remind fans to make the most of this incredible place, whether it’s lounging on the beach in Waikiki, hiking the Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail, or catching a wave on the North Shore.”

Luppenthal expects there will be high demand for the Hawaii-themed Pokémon ukulele, which he believes is the most premium and unique item in the lineup. The ukulele has an MSRP of $59.99 USD. Because of the Hawaii theme, Luppenthal also expects there will be demand for merchandise inspired by other locations, such as Pokémon aloha shirts.
Previously, The Pokémon Company International teased a world-exclusive Pikachu plush toy dressed in snorkeling gear and a special Pokémon aloha shirt, in partnership with Reyn Spooner, a local Hawaiian company known for making the highest quality aloha wear since 1956. Luppenthal said that’s what makes the collaboration so special.
Everything revealed here will only be available at the Pokémon Center pop-up at the Pokémon World Championships, taking place from August 14 to 18. Even if you have an event badge, you won’t be able to just pop in: you’ll need a reservation to visit the Pokémon Center store at 2024 World.
