Katie Ledecky is looking to tie her record in women’s swimming with a 12th medal as she seeks her first medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Two medals at these Olympics would definitely be a record-breaking achievement.
But beyond her medal totals, she has set the standard of excellence in the sport for over a decade at the competitive level. Her records in swimming competitions are record-breaking and likely to stand the test of time, at least for a while until the next great swimmer rises through the ranks.
Let’s take a look at all the world records Ledecky has held so far.

Ledecky has broken her personal best in the 800m freestyle four times, the 1500m freestyle five times, and the 400m freestyle record twice, which has since been broken, but remains the fastest Olympic record in that event.
In addition to world records, she holds some of the fastest times in U.S. events measured in yards.
