Duchess Kate returned to her home in Windsor today after a two-week stay at the London Clinic following abdominal surgery.
The 42-year-old Princess of Wales is not expected to perform any royal duties until after Easter as her husband Prince William cleans up his royal diary.
Duchess Kate was admitted to hospital 14 days ago, on Tuesday, January 16, but royal aides said she was “doing well” and would continue her recovery at home.
MailOnline understands that whether Duchess Kate will return to royal duties will depend on medical advice as the time approaches, and that Prince William will return to royal duties once he has calmed down.
Her father-in-law, Charles III, was admitted three days ago for surgery for an enlarged prostate and remained at a London clinic this afternoon.
Prince Charles visited Kate last Friday morning before her surgery, and his wife, Queen Camilla, has also visited her four times in Marylebone hospital.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: “The Princess of Wales has returned to her home in Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery.” She is making good progress.
“The Prince and Princess would like to express their huge gratitude to the entire team at the London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.
“The Welsh family remains grateful for the blessings we have received from around the world.”
