The fire broke out in South Kensington around 12:30 a.m. Friday.
Around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines were called to the scene on Friday morning after a fire broke out at a terraced house in Kensington, west London.
Five people were rescued from apartments on the first, second and fourth floors of the building, and 11 were treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to London hospitals and trauma centres.
Half of the first floor of the five-story building, which had been converted into apartments, was extinguished around 2:20 a.m. Friday. This was about two hours after the fire brigade was dispatched.
About 15 people fled the house in Emperor’s Gate, south Kensington, before firefighters arrived.
Fire crews from Kensington, Fulham, Battersea, Hammersmith and Chelsea were also involved in fighting the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
Steve Collins, from the London Fire Brigade, said at the scene: “The fire has spread from the ground floor to the top floor and roof of the property. Crews are working diligently to extinguish the fire.” [it] This is to prevent the spread to adjacent buildings. ”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent a number of personnel to the scene, including paramedics, response vehicle paramedics, advanced paramedics, operational managers and Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) members. “We also dispatched the London Air Ambulance.”
“We treated eight patients and transported them to London hospitals and major trauma centres. We are at the scene alongside our colleagues from the emergency services.”
