Disney+ and Hulu have set a new Bruce Springsteen documentary for an October premiere.
Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band follows the band’s 2023-2024 world tour and features the band’s rehearsals, backstage moments, and the process of creating a setlist. It features a conversation with Springsteen, archival clips from the E Street Band, and more. The project will build on Springsteen’s existing works, including the memoir Born to Run, the live performance (and documentary) Springsteen on Broadway, and the films Western Stars and Letter to You. It is intended to complement his series of autobiographical works.
The documentary features longtime Springsteen collaborators such as “Western Stars” and “Springsteen on Broadway,” as well as music documentaries “The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash” and “Willie Nelson & Family.” Directed by Tom Zimney. Jimny also produced the album along with Springsteen, Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau, Adrian Gerrard and Sean Stewart.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band recently wrapped up the first leg of their 2024 world tour, playing 25 shows across Europe this spring and summer before returning to North America for more shows starting in August. I plan to do it.
