Disney is working to restore its beloved theme park castle.

Disney theme parks are known for their vast collection of dark rides, thrilling attractions, and flawless live entertainment, all of which work together to form one of the best theme park experiences guests can find. But one of the coolest aspects of a Disney resort is the castle located at the center of the park. Whether it’s Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom or Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, you’ll be greeted by a visually stunning castle at the end of Main Street USA. You can’t go wrong with Mickey ears.
These castles are large, but they use forced perspective to emphasize the idea of being huge. Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle is approximately 200 feet tall, comparable to other tall rides and attractions such as The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest.
Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle is different, being only 27 feet tall. Disneyland is located in a densely populated city like Anaheim and is overall much smaller than Walt Disney World due to land restrictions. Either way, both of these castles are just as amazing as any other and serve as true icons of Disney theme parks. But Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris wins in terms of beauty and detail, offering guests a visual experience like no other.

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris is breathtaking, with a beautiful, lush green landscape blending into the luxurious castle. Each Disney castle is unique in its own way, but Disneyland Paris’ version is truly characterized by its fine details. Unfortunately, the castle suffered severe damage.
Earlier this year, reports began to emerge regarding the condition of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris, with photos revealing parts of the castle had become severely damaged over time. However, the interior of the castle has also suffered damage, and guests have been sharing photos of the castle.
Thankfully, Disneyland Paris’ news outlet DLP Report (@DLPReport) shared some interesting news about the situation at Sleeping Beauty Castle and said that Disney actually has a plan.
There is a plan to fix the paint problem on the turrets in Sleeping Beauty Castle, but the longer you wait, the worse things will get.

It’s still unclear what exactly this plan means, but it’s great news that Disney is actually considering these issues. As you can see in the photo above, there is heavy wear on the castle towers, likely due to prolonged exposure to the elements.
Part of the bridge that transports guests into the castle was also damaged, with some of the concrete chipped and cracked.
Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 and has a very rich history within the Walt Disney Company. The resort, originally titled “Euro Disneyland,” faced major financial problems after opening, largely due to lower-than-expected attendance. For years, Disneyland Paris was considered a failure until things finally recovered. Today, Disneyland Paris is one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations and a steady source of revenue for the Walt Disney Company.
