Daisy Mae Cooper took us through the self-tanning blunder to end all self-tanning mistakes and give us some serious 1900s nostalgia.
The This Country star, 37, revealed on Instagram that she decided to use a bottle of Fake Take, which she first brought in in 2004. And the results were exactly as expected.
Posting a selfie on Instagram, the BAFTA-winning actress looked unrecognizable as she sported a beautiful shade of mahogany as her tan progressed.
“Does fake tan have an expiry date?!” she wrote above the photo looking clearly traumatized. How on earth do we get rid of this?!”
In the caption, she added: “Please help me.” Is the fake tan I used 20 years old? Fake tan removers don’t work, and neither does lemon juice. I tried nail polish remover and it just burned. ”
But the story didn’t end there. Shortly after posting her update, she asked for more advice while looking wistfully into the distance (perhaps remembering a time before she discovered beauty products).

“Does it look like it’s getting more brown than the first photo? Or is it the same? (sic),” she wrote.
The third update came, and in a twist, thanks to an unfortunate removal technique, she began to turn an even more unnatural color.
Daisy posted another selfie on her Instagram page, pointing out a strange green stain on her forehead that had rapidly turned brown after scrubbing her skin with a dishwasher tablet.
“When I crushed the dishwasher tablet into a paste and rubbed it on my forehead, it turned green. Is that from the dishwasher tab or the sunburn????” she wrote.
Fans were quick to offer wisdom when Daisy was in trouble, with @cl.over845 commenting: “Have you ever thought about taking a different path and becoming a bodybuilder?”
@lalaletmeexplain added: “If you apply Ronseal varnish to the rest of your body, your face will look pale in comparison.”

Reality TV star Charlotte Dawson offered to send Cooper her own fake tan remover, but Lisa Snowdon said, “It’s not engine oil, but gentle decomposition using coconut oil or other aromatherapy oil.” Please try it 🙏🏼,” he wrote.
Her father, Paul Cooper, was less forthcoming, commenting to Starr, who asked if he could rectify the mistake, “No, you’re fucked.”
@dnl1979 suggested: “Move to Liverpool for a month until it goes away.” No one will look there. ”
Others compared Daisy to another TV icon, and @hotfoils joked, “Okay, David Dickinson, how much does that antique vase cost here?” 😂”
Many people get a serious nostalgic vibe from the look, reminding them of the great times filled with blue mascara, lipstick foundation, and Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse.
@jackeparrock wrote, “It’s not the product era. It’s just the look we were going for at the time 😂.”
@___gemmasmith___ added: “A little blue mascara and a butterfly hair clip and you’re good to go 👀.”
We’ve gotten a lot of suggestions, from vodka to lemon juice, but we’re personal fans of leaning toward the Grinch-inspired look and seeing how it plays out.
