A man shot dead by police after breaking into a home with a crossbow and other weapons was a convicted stalker and banned from the road where he was shot.
Bryce Hodgson was given a 16-week suspended prison sentence and 12 months of supervision after admitting stalking in July last year, according to court documents.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Matt Twist, who has overall responsibility for firearms, said he “strongly believes” police actions “prevented further loss of life”.
He added: “The first unarmed officers were informed that they had arrived at the scene following reports of a man with a weapon threatening to harm people within the address.
“Officers knew there were people inside and were genuinely concerned for their safety.
“Armed officers were called and attempted to get the man to surrender. They entered the property and shots were fired.”
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the shooting, which is common when fatal police incidents occur.
IPOC regional director Mel Palmer said: “Given that a man has been shot and killed by police, our role is to conduct an independent investigation into all the circumstances surrounding this incident, including the actions and decisions taken by the police. That’s true.”
