“As a group, we are characterized by a diversity of opinions, but we differ widely in terms of which books we like and what we think about them,” Maile explained.
“We all like each other and trust each other enough that we have no hesitation in voicing our opinions. The books that I think are the best are the ones that others have written about. It’s not what I think is the best book, and vice versa.”

“Last year we read 11 books, which was very hard. This year we read only eight books,” Maile explained.
“Last night, we discussed two things in episode one. Next Wednesday, in episode two, we discuss two more. In episode three, we discuss one book, and in episode four, we discuss three books. We’ll discuss it, so it’ll fill the screen!”
According to Maile, the group became interested in the show’s producers, and after attending a rally, they decided to appear on the show, which led to them appearing on the show.
A retired technical writer, she said she particularly enjoyed the process of filming the show, both series of which took place over two days in her home.
“Staff arrived around 11 a.m. to prepare. [they were] The whole day is filled with setup and such. And we, the talent, arrived around 3 o’clock and we all had to go home around midnight,” Maile explained.
“The production company’s VIP production was really great. We enjoyed every minute of it.”
