Meet Bally, your adorable AI-powered robot companion
Few may remember Bally, the spherical robot introduced by Samsung at the last CES. It’s worth noting that Samsung has brought back this round robot with AI enhancements and a built-in projector.
Samsung’s CES announcement describes Barry as a home “AI companion” adept at managing smart home tasks like feeding pets and adjusting room lighting. Among the many AI-powered devices on display at the show, Ballie stands out with its integrated projector. In a press release, Samsung claims that Bally is “the world’s first projector that automatically detects a person’s posture and face angle and adjusts the optimal projection angle according to the situation.”
In theory, this feature would make Ballie a useful addition to your home, like when you wake up in the morning and wonder what the weather will be like that day. However, the practicality of such a robot depends on whether Samsung reveals the price and release date. – Taylor Lyles, reporter

LG surprised me last week When they announced their OLED 480Hz gaming monitor. However, I was perplexed that there was no pricing, let alone an actual name. 480Hz gaming monitors are certainly new territory for the market. Therefore, today ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP. The price is unknown, but Asus says the release date for his PG27AQDP is “late 2024.” – Taylor Lyles, reporter

Hyperkin excited about Duchess and Mega 95
When Hyperkin comes to CES, they always have one or two great gadgets. And this year did not disappoint. The company introduced his Duchess and Mega 95.
The former is a remake of the original Xbox S controller that works with Xbox One, Series X/S, and Windows 10/11 PC. Most importantly, it has a Hall-effect thumbstick and a Hall-effect impulse trigger. Thumbstick drift is becoming an issue in the industry, so this will greatly extend the lifespan of the controller, and the impulse triggers will add even more realism to action games and first-person shooters. Hyperkin didn’t reveal a release date or price in a press release, but its sleek design, along with the Hall-effect thumbstick and trigger, makes it worth the price of admission.
The latter is a handheld that can play Sega Genesis and Mega Drive cartridges, and looks like an oversized Genesis controller, so it’s the same concept as Hyperkin’s SupaBoy handheld. The Mega 95 features a 5-inch screen with a button that allows you to toggle the aspect ratio between 4:3 and 16:9. If you want to play on a larger display, the USB-C dock includes a TV output for him (though the resolution can’t exceed 720p). Again, the price and release date for the Mega 95 are unknown, but the announcement alone should make Sega Genesis fans happy. – Taylor Lyles, reporter
Hyte Y70 Touch has a large touch screen and you can also turn on Twitch chat
The designs of PC cases are becoming more and more interesting year by year. Hyte’s popular His Y60 case with its large wraparound glass panel was already pretty cool, but the new His Y70 Touch takes things up a notch by adding a large touchscreen panel to the front edge of the case. raising the level. You can also view system stats, have Twitch chat, and play games that resemble the game, but for legal reasons, it’s clearly not Tetris. The Y70 Touch will be priced at $359.99 and will be available later this year. – Bo Moore, Executive Tech Editor
MSI RTX 4080 Super 16G Expert is a simple yet elegant and powerful GPU
The design of Nvidia’s Founder’s Edition cards has always been very appealing to me. The simple yet sophisticated design makes the Founder’s Edition GPU a worthy addition to any PC gaming rig. Of course, Founder’s Edition GPUs have always been difficult to find for some people, even at launch, and finding them OEM is common. He was surprised to find that MSI was the first OEM he influenced to design its own Founder’s Edition GPU for the 4080 Super.
The RTX 4080 Super 16G Expert has the same simple look as its 4080 Super Founder’s Edition counterpart (and I saw both in person this week, and they’re both ridiculously huge). MSI’s 4080 Super 16G Expert is gray instead of a black design with a gray outline. This GPU may also be confusing to some people, as it could be mistaken for a non-gaming GPU at first glance, but I could imagine how great it would look when placed vertically in a PC case. – Taylor Lyles, reporter
Rabbit R1 is an AI-powered companion pocket-sized gadget that can learn your behavior
For those who haven’t kept up with the themes and trends of CES 2024, AI is much bigger. This year we’ve seen a plethora of gadgets that incorporate some form of artificial intelligence, but here are some that stand out to us: R1a pocket-sized gadget from AI startup Rabbit.
At first glance, the Rabbit R1 reminds us of the orange variant of the Playdate handheld. However, unlike the Playdate, this device is an AI-powered companion piece that promises an “app-free experience.”the rabbit said in it press release R1 will be able to observe user behavior when using certain apps and mimic it to do its own thing. R1’s description says it sounds like a virtual assistant like Amazon Alexa, but powered by AI and capable of autonomously performing tasks like playing music or ordering from Amazon. – Taylor Lyles, reporter
C Seed’s N1 MicroLED TV is a fully foldable 137-inch TV
A foldable TV that looks like the latest model announced by TCL was unveiled at CES. However, everything seems to be foldable. I want something that can be expanded like C Seed’s N1 MicroLED TV. It’s 137 inches, which is quite large for a TV, especially one designed for indoor use. Naturally, it takes up a lot of space, but when not used for its intended purpose, it folds up into a futuristic sculpture. – Taylor Lyles, reporter
Clicks is an iPhone phone case featuring a physical keyboard
Last week, a new technology startup called Clicks Technology was announced. In addition to announcing the company’s founding, the company also unveiled its first product, his Clicks. This is a phone case for some of his iPhones (iPhone 14 Pro, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max) with a physical keyboard.
At first glance, this product looks like an iPhone attached to a Blackberry. But when you look into it, this product is much more than what someone with Blackberry nostalgia would buy. Clicks is a well-made accessory that’s perfect for anyone who misses the physical keyboard on their phone. Not only that, this can be a great accessibility tool for people with visual impairments. There’s still a bit of a learning curve as I still make a typo or two when testing the keyboard, but this product has a lot of potential. – Taylor Lyles, reporter
The first smart binoculars are called Swarovski Optik AX Visio and they sound great
Not many people know this publicly, but I’m an avid conservationist. I enjoy the great outdoors and living in this state, I take advantage of the cool outdoor activities, especially during hunting season.
When I saw the Swarovski Optik AX Visio, I was immediately intrigued. Yes, at first glance they look like regular old binoculars. But it has a lot of cleverness. First, it allows you to capture photos and videos. Still, what I love most about AX Visio is the ability to identify birds and animals with the push of a button. This made me question my infinite possibilities. By identifying the birds in the trees, for example, when hunting with a bow, you know that you are 30 feet above the tree.
It’s a shame that this gadget costs a hefty $4,799. – Taylor Lyles, reporter
Add music to your favorite photos with Samsung Music Frame
Remember Samsung’s Frame TV? What if we told you that Samsung is doing something similar again, a picture frame that doubles as a wireless speaker instead?
Like Frame TV before it, Samsung Music Frame is a technological Trojan horse. It looks like a normal picture frame, but it has multiple speakers built into it. If people decide to buy one (or more) of these, it will be interesting to see how they incorporate this into their homes. – Taylor Lyles, reporter
