We are all Computex 2024 This week on Tom’s Guide, the year’s coolest computing event continues to wow us with amazing PC products, and our local team in Taiwan has been on the show floor doing some eye-catching camera work.
yesterday Computex Day 3 We fell in love with the incredibly exciting Asus TUF Gaming A14 laptop, a mid-tower PC case housing a Lego Wolverine, and a racing cockpit simulator. Jason England He will envision it in his dreams for months.
Computex is on its fourth day and tensions are building. Scroll down for photos of some weird but awesome computing tech the TG crew tested in Taipei. Spoiler alert: one entry features the actual president of Taiwan, MSI Claw.
Essencore Custom Steampunk PC
There’s not much to say about this wood-cased PC. In fact, maybe a couple of things. First, it looks absolutely amazing, with a Jetsons-meets-The Matrix vibe, and second, it’s hard to imagine a world where this would actually become a real product that regular people could buy.
That’s even more disappointing.
Ace Magic Z1A
Dual-screen laptops tend to look a bit quirky, but when it comes to productivity, they can be extremely useful, and while the Alder Lake-powered Z1A doesn’t boast the most powerful specs in the world, it’s still a pretty impressive product.
Spec-wise, you get two 14.1-inch 16:9 IPS displays with a pixel count of 1920 x 1200. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics solution isn’t all that spectacular, but at least this portable PC is pleasingly light; even with the twin panels, it weighs just 1.8kg (63.4oz) and is available in both Windows 11 and Linux-based models.
Also, PSA: “Stay hungry, Stay foolish” is written on the keyboard, which is thought-provoking.
MSI MEG 321URX QD-OLED Monitor
There’s a lot more to this QD-OLED screen than just being labeled the worst thing ever. Firstly, it comes with some truly Terminator-like features.
Enter AI Sky Sight. This incredibly advanced technology uses artificial intelligence to automatically detect enemy locations on-screen in one of the best Steam games and highlight them on this futuristic display.
The MEG 321URX has a few other cool features worth noting, one of which is “OLED Care 2.0”, which significantly reduces OLED screen burn-in that ruins your display.
This stunning 31.5-inch 4K display (boasting a 240Hz refresh rate) also comes equipped with a ‘SpectrumBar’ with ‘Mystic Light’ and ‘Glow Sync.’ As a matter of fact, this monitor can mimic the on-screen colors of the game you’re playing through soft ambient lighting.
Acer Swift 14 AI
Acer’s new Swift 14 is a thin and light ultraportable, and following the recent trend, it’s packed with some new AI features. It’s also really cool how Acer lets you know when the NPU is working while you’re using it.
Whenever the neural processing unit is performing, a small light-up indicator on the laptop’s touchpad starts to glow. This feature might get tedious after a while, but for now, we like it. Acer’s AI laptop is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 300 and Intel Luna Lake flavor.
Sentinel Cipher 1
Computex is a great event, but there’s one problem that always comes with the event: it displays some amazingly beautiful custom PCs that you’ll never get a chance to actually own… unless you’re willing to sneak a display unit out of the Nangang Exhibition Centre in a really big backpack. Sentinel Cypher might be no exception.
This gorgeous rig has an aesthetic that looks like it just survived a nuclear blast, yet is still functional, giving off some serious Fallout vibes. Nvidia and Intel must be amazed by what Essencore has done, as neither company is likely to see an RTX 4070 or Intel Core i7-14700K in such an amazing and unique rig again.
Z10 DS Display
It’s a pretty novel concept: a tempered glass display that attaches to your PC. Novelty aside, this attachable screen might not have much appeal to hardcore gamers. While the panel’s functionality is commendable, a 1080p/60Hz display that only covers 62% of the sRGB color gamut is unlikely to infuriate display enthusiasts. Still, the concept is pretty nifty.
MSI Claw 8 AI Plus gets Presidential specs
The strangest thing that happened on the fourth day of Computex 2024? Former Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te MSI Claw booth.
Rishi Sunak, a journalist writing about this huge computing event from the frigid shores of England, Steam Deck OLED People speak in front of cameras ahead of the first UK general election since 2019.
To be fair, the new MSI Claw 8 AI Plus It certainly seems like a product worthy of such a big PR event, as this upgraded handheld PC should be a significant upgrade over the OG model, thanks to Intel’s latest Lunar Lake chips.
