The Body Shop has long been a staple of the British high street. The UK’s much-loved chain of cruelty-free cosmetics, skincare and perfumes that you can smell before you see.
However, the chain has recently faced problems and last week announced it was calling in administrators. Yesterday (February 20), The Body Shop revealed that around half of its branches may close, seven of which will close immediately.
With over 200 branches and 2,000 employees across the country, there’s a lot at stake. The Body Shop has around 12 branches in London, but here’s everything we know about which branches will close and when.

Which body shops are closed in London?
So far, four body shops in London have been confirmed to have closed, all of which have already closed permanently (closing on February 20th). The locations of the closed Body Shop branches are:
- sally keys
- Oxford Street (Bond Street end)
- canary wharf
- cheap side
Will more London Body Shop stores close?
That possibility is very high. The Body Shop plans to close around 100 stores across the country, with some expected to be in the capital, although the exact locations have not been confirmed.
The Body Shop has London locations including Brent Cross, Brixton, Ealing, Enfield, Hounslow, Islington, London Bridge, 66 Oxford Street, Regent Street, Walthamstow, Wembley and Wimbledon .
What is being said about store closures?
The administrators of FRP Advisory oversee the insolvency process.by BBCFRP has this to say about the closure:
“As we reduce our store footprint, we will also refocus our branded products, online sales channels, and wholesale strategy.”
The company also said the reduction in the number of full-time employees at its Body Shop headquarters is part of a “more agile and financially viable model.”
