Uganda’s bowlers struggled to set the batsmen and Gurbaz and Zadran continued their bounding rush. Gurbaz reached fifty in the ninth innings – his first in a T20 World Cup – hitting four sixes and two fours along the way.
Afghanistan had already crossed the 100-run mark by the 10th over, and Bilal Shah’s 25-run performance (including five no-balls and five wides) put Afghanistan on pace to surpass 150. Finally, Brian Masaba gave Uganda their first wicket of the tournament, sweeping Ibrahim Zadran with a low ball.
