A group of cleaning fans have shared their cheap and easy way to clean toilet bowls using some unusual household items.
Dirt in the toilet can be difficult to clean and can be a nuisance to guests. A Reddit user may have found a solution to this problem with an inexpensive beauty product, Express reports.
In a Reddit thread discussing removing calcium from toilet bowls, one user suggested that pumice stone could help. Other suggestions included the likes of Harpic and Coca-Cola for cleaning products.
One person wrote: “Pumice stone and label scrubber. I recently had a stain like this in the toilet of an apartment I lived in, and it came off right away. I didn’t use any chemicals, I just scrubbed it with gloves and a stone. I didn’t leave the toilet dirty. It was either. If its helpful then im happy!”
Pumice is a type of volcanic rock that is used in cosmetics to exfoliate the skin and can also remove calluses and warts. You can usually buy it for less than £10 at your local pharmacy.
One person wrote: “Here’s the answer. They’re often referred to as Poomy scrubbers, and they’re easy to find. One of those sticks fixed a huge buildup of lime and hard water in my toilet that wouldn’t wash out.” they’re great. ”
“I buy either sticks of pumice stone or large solid pumice stones at the 100-yen store. I agree that is the easiest and most effective way to clean the toilet,” another added.
And a third person said, “Pumice stone and label scrubber. I recently had these stains in the bathroom of an apartment I lived in, and they came off right away. No chemicals, just scrubbing with gloves and a stone. “There was no dirt on it.” Toilet too. ”
Other Reddit users suggested commercial cleaners such as Iron Out powder and Zep Acidic toilet bowl cleaner, which can be purchased at various supermarkets across the country.
