Fluttery false eyelashes are commonplace these days, but if I had the time to maintain them, I would wear false eyelashes.
They look great and look very elegant unless you do ugly, huge, spidery work.
There is no harm in them.
Unless, of course, there are children in the car.
But schools in Kent will now allow children to wear fakes as part of their uniform.
A weak-willed headteacher has been called out for ‘cautiousness’ at Knoll Academy in Sevenoaks as pupils miss classes to have their eyelashes removed or refuse to go to school without them for mental health reasons. He said he had no choice but to introduce an eyelash policy.
Director David Collins said: “We need standards of dress that help establish a work ethos and set standards of behavior.” In this case, getting the student into school is the most important consideration. ”
The mental health status of children in this country is shocking and frightening.
This problem is getting worse, but forcing children to grow up too quickly will never solve the problem.
And all those kids whose parents did the only sensible thing and said no, will end up feeling like little ugly ducklings every day compared to their suffering, winged friends.
One parent said that peer pressure is rampant at school and it is always extremely frightening for children.
open the floodgates
Studies have also shown that children who wear uniforms are less likely to worry about being bullied because they don’t have to worry about how they dress.
So, arguably, the easiest and best thing for those kids would be to just say “no” to all the pretense instead of opening the floodgates for non-pretending kids to be bullied.
Parents of school-age children should not glue eyelashes to their eyelashes.
And unless they have the money, these kids are at risk of going to cheap salons in back streets and risking infections and corneal abrasions.
Children should be encouraged to be children and focus on play and schooling instead of spending hours at the hair salon.
Of course, it’s important to send your child to school, but who in their right mind would think they need to bribe their child to wear eyelashes and attend lessons?
Children must be encouraged to savor every moment of childhood
What this poor head did was cave in and put the blame on the kids.
What’s next? Allowing people to run around in PE with tattoos and acrylic nails.
Children should not set rules at school or have a circle around their teachers.
They should be told that they are there to prepare them for adult life, not as extras on a reality show.
And they must be encouraged to savor every moment of their childhood. Because we all know those carefree school days will be gone in the blink of an eye.
breast day
You don’t have to be a follower of fashion to rejoice at the fact that the models on the Paris catwalks this week have ditched the bra.
There’s nothing better than disconnecting that annoying wired number as soon as you get home.
Dressing a little smarter can make this summer more comfortable, liberating, and fashionable for many of us.
Olivia’s confession
It’s so disgusting when celebrities claim they don’t do any work.
You know this type: “Oh, I’ve never had Botox, I just have a good facial and great genes.”
yes. anything.
So it was quite a breath of fresh air when 50-year-old Olivia Colman questioned Vernon Kaye about how he looked so young.
When he said he’d never had Botox, she said, “Oh, I’ve had a lot.”
Yes, I’m Olivia too.
George, the choice of feet to the commons
For me, George Galloway will always remain the man who enthusiastically welcomed the sleazy Jimmy Savile into the Celebrity Big Brother house and pretended to be a cat in an absolutely disgusting moment with Lula Lenska .
In a perfect world, he would never step foot in the House of Commons.
Biker Si moving side
It’s sad, but it really breaks your heart when a dear friend dies.
And for hairy biker Sea King, the tragic loss of her 66-year-old partner Dave Myers to cancer also marks the end of a successful TV cooking partnership.
Hearing his eulogy for his friend brought me to tears.
Mr. Shi said: “My best friend is on a journey, but for now I can’t follow… I’ll see you on the other side. I love you.”
We all hope to meet those who have passed away someday.
And I sincerely hope that this thought brings peace to Si.
Give me a TV for “Vlad”
Paul Lindley, director of the education company Sesame Workshop, which produces Sesame Street, warned that quality children’s programming is in danger of extinction.
Figures show that for children aged 6 to 11, only 15 percent of their viewing time comes from watching broadcast television.
Given a choice, my 5-year-old son will choose YouTube and watch tractors getting stuck in the mud (no, neither am I) and Vlad and Niki’s antics.
For those of you lucky enough to have never heard of them before, they’re a pair of influencer brothers of Russian-American origin who love to show off their lavish lifestyles.
Paul correctly describes this type of content as “questionable and dangerous.”
There’s little to stimulate the imagination, but there’s a lot to like about the product placement, and my son wanted a “Vlad-like” sit-down car for his birthday, so this one clearly works.
He had to make do with a Spider-Man costume.
Start eating wisely
We are officially a bunch of fat people.
One billion people around the world are now obese, according to new figures, double the number of adults since 1990.
Researchers said this week that showing calories on menus could help fight weight loss and lead to a reduction in cardiovascular disease.
And scientists say the findings highlight the need for governments to consider extending calorie labeling requirements to all food companies.
But I totally disagree.
I went out to dinner with Geordie on Tuesday and pored over the menu to find the dish with the fewest calories.
I was thrilled because it was a (very tasty, greasy, ultra-processed) snack-sized sausage roll.
Geordie ate a huge chicken and avocado salad which contained over 200 calories.
It would be foolish to say that my diet was in any way healthy, even if it was low in calories.
Having a nanny state watch over your diet is not the answer to us all being fat.
With a good education and a little common sense.
I like the luxurious look
Lucky Nicola Peltz.
Imagine being able to dress up and play around Victoria Beckham’s wardrobe.
This week, Mrs Brooklyn Beckham appeared wearing the same Dolce & Gabbana leather jacket that Victoria wore to a Man United match in 2001, when Nicola’s husband was a toddler.
The two seem to have had their ups and downs.
But if she were my mother-in-law and I was thin enough to wear her clothes, I would definitely keep her good books.
