Chapter 14: The End of the World
As the helicopter transports Turks, Rufus, and Hojo to Midgar, Hojo and Rufus agree that Shinra’s ambitions should be greatly expanded. Meanwhile, Zack prepares to go down the Corkscrew Tunnel, but he has no choice but to stop the reactor from exploding and join Biggs, or go to Shinra Headquarters for a cure for Cloud and look for Hojo. You need to decide whether to go down one of them.
Flashing back to his conversation with Marlene about how Aerith would die, he finally decides to go to Shinra headquarters to save Cloud. After he departs, a rainbow-colored vapor of life flows down the other tunnel track. At Aerith’s house, Cloud wakes up from his wheelchair and explains that Aerith is essentially in a dream.
