If you’re even remotely interested in skin care, you’ve probably heard of Caroline Hirons. Since launching her eponymous blog in 2010, educating the public about all aspects of her skin, she has since been dubbed the Queen of Skin Care by her legion of devoted fans. It’s called that, and for good reason.
Known and loved for our no-nonsense approach to skin care, and the beauty industry as a whole, Hiron’s is a true authority on everything from retinoids and moisturizers to acids and cleansers.
She has won various industry awards, written a best-selling skincare book, launched an app, raised over £500,000 for charity through the sale of skincare kits, spearheaded the Beauty Backed Trust and been recognized by the British Beauty Council. In addition to serving on the board, Hirons has been active in the past. She also somehow found time and was able to launch her own brand “Skin Rocks”.
Skin Rocks was launched in November 2022 and was designed to take the guesswork out of skincare. The brand initially launched with two types of retinoid creams, but Hirons said at the time of the launch that all products would eventually span five categories: cleansing, toning, treating, moisturizing and protecting. It is said that it is planned. The range has been steadily growing and now includes one oil, two moisturizers, one cleanser, and, as of today (February 15), two acid toners.
Considering Hiron’s is truly a pioneer in acid toning, it’s no surprise that she would eventually launch her own toner. But how do they do it? What ingredients does she choose and do they work? We tested them to find out.

We were lucky enough to get our hands on pre-launch samples of the new Skin Rocks toners, and over the next few weeks we incorporated them into our routines to see if their promises of exfoliation and improved skin texture come true. tested. However, since I have two, I focused on the gentle acid, but considering my breakout-prone skin, I also used the control acid from time to time. We have also been using other products from the Skin Rocks series over the past few months to give you our honest reviews.
