Chocolate fans have something to look forward to as a new attraction is unveiled at Cadbury World. This unusual and complex work will be unveiled this month ahead of the site’s new Bournville Experience opening in the spring.
The new attraction is a recreation of the original 1824 Bull Street shop made entirely of Cadbury chocolates. The product was created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of perhaps Birmingham’s most famous export, launched on March 4, 1824, two centuries ago today.
Standing 85cm high and weighing 30kg (equivalent to 667 standard Cadbury Dairy Milk bars), the “epic” Chocolate Bull Street store took five days to create by a talented chocolatier. This spring, the revamped Bournville Experience will open as part of his wider £8m investment in Cadbury World.

The new look experience includes a new Cadbury Chocolate Quest ride and a new themed interactive ‘Try It Me’ zone. Merlin Entertainment acquired Cadbury World in January 2023 and operates Oulton Towers, Legoland, and more.
Every element of the new Bull Street Shops attraction is hand-piped or handcrafted, with every cobblestone and individual brick made by hand. This masterpiece was created by chocolatiers Donna Orbán and Dawn Jenks, who delicately crafted every edible element using milk and white chocolate.
This chocolate masterpiece is a recreation of John Cadbury’s first store, opened 200 years ago at 93 Bull Street, Birmingham. Originally a tea dealer and coffee roaster, the company also sold hops, mustard, patent cocoa, and cacao nibs.
Cadbury World’s chocolatiers have painstakingly recreated every detail, from the 43 individually wrapped miniature reproductions of the original Cadbury Dairy Milk bar to the artwork displayed along the store windows.
Providing an update on the extensive refurbishment of the center and what guests can expect, Colin Pitt, Education and Heritage Center Manager, said: For the brand, this had to be something special.
“We are proud of the Cadbury story and guests of all ages will love learning about the brand’s heritage at this attraction. To celebrate 200 years of Cadbury, we are proud to be part of the building that started it all. What better way than to go back to the issue of “Street Stores!”
“With the new Bournville Experience, we look forward to welcoming guests to the attraction to celebrate together and learn about 200 years of stories.”
