Self-care will forever be our favorite hobby, but we understand that recharging and putting yourself first looks different for everyone. Each week, we ask a number of celebrities to share their ideal Sunday self-care routine, the beauty products they’re passionate about recommending to friends, and the TV shows they’re currently watching.
This week we look at competition megastar turned Big Brother series 20 finalist Noky Simbani. The 27-year-old was crowned Miss Universe UK in 2022 and came fifth in 2023 on the Big Brother revival, which drew the biggest audience in more than a decade.
Kind-hearted, classy, and showing her true self throughout the show’s six-week run, Norkie was a great housemate and had us rooting for her until the end. So what has the star’s life been like since leaving such a huge show?
“It was really crazy, especially when you make it to the finals because I think you feel like you’re the most ignorant person on the planet!” Nokie enthuses. “Because all of this is happening outside and everyone is talking about how big this show was.”
“It’s not going to stop anytime soon, but we’re not seeing the hype that we had a few weeks ago, so we still don’t know how big the show actually was. I don’t think it ever will.” “I was able to conceptualize it. It was such a crazy experience and I still feel like I’m one of the most ignorant people about this show, but I was a part of it, and it was so weird.” is”
Norkie just gushes about life after the show, her self-care routine, and the sage advice she puts into practice…
When I look back at the program

We need to know – has Norkie seen anything back since leaving the house? To be honest, I have to do Henry Southern and watch every episode.
Nokey said, “I was actually only rewatching the last episode, and I was thinking I needed some nostalgia the week I got back, but I watched a lot of clips, especially the highlights and lowlights.” , I haven’t faced watching the entire show yet. It’s still too traumatic to watch now, but I did watch a major part of my experience. I’m curious about how everything else integrates after the show. I’m looking forward to seeing Ruka.”
About public perception

You’ll only see snippets of 24 hours for up to 15 housemates. So how did Nokie find the edit, and was she fairly recognized?
“From what I’ve heard from friends and family, and the bits and pieces I’ve seen, they’re definitely a caricature of your personality. I said, ‘Oh, all she does is sit in front of the mirror and put on her makeup,’ and the show goes, ‘Oh, all she does is sit in front of the mirror and put on makeup.’ Switched to clip.
“But first, I don’t think it’s a crime. Second, I’m very quick at doing hair and makeup and never spend all day on it. And third, I don’t think it’s a crime. ‘But this Miss Universe Great Britain was part of my caricature, and it was part of me to be glamorous, so I’m not surprised that something like that happened.
“I think I was portrayed fairly, but I think the other housemates are upset about the editing because they don’t accept what they said. On a show of that nature, They’re going to show you the truth.” What you say is the worst and what you say is the most guilty. So even if you say a million and one good things or great positive things, if you say one dangerous thing, it’s going to get aired. That’s something you should accept when signing up for a show like that.
“I accept everything that’s shown to me. I’m not a mean person, and that meanness was never meant to be shown. So I’m actually very happy with this edit. ”
We’re happy too, well. 👏
About self-care

What does the ultimate self-care Sunday look like for the Big Brother icon?
“I think it’s really important for women in particular to realize that when they do self-care at different times of the month, it’s really important for them to realize that, because how different people they are, Because I think I’m gaining more knowledge.” It can be done at different times of the month.
“Self-care Sundays are days when I literally just want to stay in bed and watch TV all day and do nothing. And when I feel like my body needs it, my body does it.” I forgive myself 110% for what I need because I don’t have to fight it.” I know I need it, and I’ll finish it within a few days and move on and produce again. You can get your sexuality back.
“But a good, energetic Sunday of self-care starts with going to the gym. No matter how much I want to fight, I know this will make me feel better. Now that I’m ready, I eat overnight oats and I feel like I’m one of those weirdos who actually really enjoys them!
“Then I clean up the house, which usually takes me all day because my house is literally 99 percent occupied by clothes, so I have to organize all my clothes. Then, when I feel like it, I clean up the house. Maybe I’ll take a quick look around the store.’ That’s what I felt that day. Then I go home and make dinner. I love cooking because it’s very relaxing. Then I take a bath, light some candles, and watch a nice TV show. My perfect self-care Sunday is a day spent doing whatever I want to do if I can sneak a peek into everything about myself. ”
About skin care favorites

“To be honest, I’ve never been big on skincare. I just didn’t really believe in using those products, and I still don’t use them all that much. I’m very… I’m lucky. To be fair, my skin has never been that big of an issue for me, but when I started investing in skin care, I realized that my skin could actually get better.
“For example, I used to think I had hormonal acne and thought it was normal, but once I started investing more in my skin care, my acne flare-ups weren’t as bad as they used to be. I noticed that there was.
“I love the Elemis Cleansing Balm and am obsessed with it. It makes me feel like I’m in a spa. I also love the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser and like how it lathers up a bit. , But I I have sensitive skin, so it’s very gentle.
“My holy grail has to be Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting Liquid Exfoliant. It has transformed my skin. If I use it and it falls out, I can tell right away. It’s also great for hormonal acne flare-ups. I also love Bondi.” Sands Moisturizer with SPF 50, literally perfect. ”

About makeup during shooting
We all agree that Nokie looked great on the show, but what were the beauty products she relied on for that on-screen glow?
“I love the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation, it feels so light on the skin but has great coverage. When I was a kid, I didn’t have a huge range of shades, so I always used high-end foundations from an early age. I always end up splurging because I need a shade that suits me, but other brands have expanded their range in the last few years, and the Fit Me formula is perfect. I like the color that matches.

“When I’m at a live show or a party where I know I’m going to be filmed by a big camera, I try to wear this and do something more glamorous. I love my Lancôme foundation every day. My tinted moisturizer.
“I have oily skin, so setting sprays are also a big part of my routine. I actually bought the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray for the show. It was my first time using it and I absolutely loved it. ”
About face masks
“Even at home, I was obsessed with face masks and eye masks. I brought a pot of L’Oreal clay masks and used them all the time. Everyone in the house used them all the time, and they all loved them.” It was a highlight for me.
“I also loved Garnier’s pomegranate sheet mask. It was a big part of my beauty routine. I couldn’t get any sleep in there and my face and eyes were always swollen. So something to cool everything down. Everything was perfect.”

About daily health habits

We can imagine Norkie is busy with post-show commitments and events, but what are her little health habits that keep her in top shape?
“I was really lucky when I competed in Miss Universe Great Britain. I had a really busy schedule at the time and had some talented experiences and helped people learn about health, gut health and time management. He gave me advice on things like that.
“One of the supplements I was introduced to was Synprobe, and I trust it. It has really helped my swelling. I find that whenever I feel extremely stressed or anxious, my swelling gets worse. I was going to the gym, but I wasn’t seeing much benefit.” Symprove makes me feel lighter all day long and I love it.
“I also love box breathing because it helps me stay focused during the day. It’s a very simple exercise of breathing in for 5 seconds, breathing in for the number of dice, then breathing out for 5 seconds, and repeating. , I feel very calm and relaxed.”

follow wise advice
“One thing I have carried with me over the years is, ‘This too shall pass.’ This is one of my favorite sayings, and it means that time heals everything and we will get through it.” It reminds me of.”
About future plans

After Miss Universe Great Britain and Big Brother, what’s next for Norkie?
“I feel like one of the biggest problems in my life is that I want to do absolutely everything! I’ve always been very studious, but I love fashion and beauty, and I love being on stage and competing in contests. I also love being involved, so it’s hard to do that.”My dream is to combine all the things I want to do into one place.
Even though I’m very involved in the beauty and fashion fields now, I always want to go back to my roots of bringing a little science and a strong female spirit to everything I do. ”
