Monty Don has announced that he is leaving BBC’s Gardener’s World to work on a new project. The star has confirmed that his new BBC series Monty Don’s Spanish Gardens will air in just two weeks. He will be joined by his wife Sara Soneva Fushi.
He said: “I’ve just confirmed that my new series ‘Monty Don’s Spanish Gardens’ will start airing on BBC Two on Friday 23rd February at 8pm in two weeks’ time.”
Monty revealed more details about the upcoming series on his website, saying: “This was filmed last year during a seven week trip to Spain in April, May, June and October, with over 40 locations across Spain. It covers different gardens.”

He added: “Despite my many previous visits as a tourist, I had an exhilarating and fascinating experience in the stunning gardens and learned so much more about the country.” Monty is one of the most popular faces in Gardeners World.
