More than three-quarters of young people in Barking and Dagenham will be attending their first-choice secondary school from September this year.
The figures show that out of 3,443 applications, 2,841 (82.47%) 10 and 11-year-olds were given their first choice, far above the capital’s average of 70.66% and higher than any other London borough. There is.

For those who missed out on their first choice, the borough also outperformed the London-wide average for their top three choices. In the borough, 95% of applicants were offered a place in the top three schools, compared to 90% across London.
Overall, 97% of applicants in the borough are offered one of their choices, compared to the London average of 95%.
