Monopiles are steel tubes driven into the seabed that act as the foundations for offshore wind turbines, supporting the turbine’s weight and wind loads. The SeAH wind monopile factory at Teesworks will be built on a vast 90-acre site and will produce monopiles of up to 3,000 tonnes.
