In the North London derby, Alessia Russo scored the only goal in front of a sold-out crowd as Arsenal beat Tottenham 1–0.
The Gunners packed Emirates Stadium for the second game in a row, with 60,050 watching on as the hosts kept up the pressure in the Women’s Super League title race.
Russo provided the deciding moment four minutes after the break, scoring from six yards out from England teammate Beth Mead’s shot.
Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw with West Ham, further losing their place in the top three. Rachel Williams scored her 50th WSL goal to give the visitors the lead in the fourth minute.
However, Vivian Asay scored an equalizer with five minutes remaining, leaving Mark Skinner’s side nine points behind third-placed Arsenal.
Emma Koivisto scored twice as Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 4-1.
Grace Fisk’s deflected shot put Liverpool ahead in the 19th minute, before Sophie-Romain Haug added a second goal and Sarah Mayring pulled one back from the penalty spot.
Koivisto made it 3-1 with an hour to go and added his fourth goal with eight minutes remaining, leaving the Reds level on points with Manchester United.
Brighton defeated bottom-of-the-table Bristol City 7-3, moving them eight points clear of the relegation zone.
Elisabeth Terlando opened the scoring in the 20th minute and Pauline Bremer added another four minutes later to give the visitors a 2-0 lead going into half-time.
City opened the scoring with a goal from Megan Connolly, but Talland’s second goal of the day and Tatiana Pinto’s goal gave Brighton a 4-1 lead.
Brooke Aspin and Amalie Sestrup scored two goals in three minutes to put Bristol City back in contention.
But Madison Haley’s goal in the 89th minute dashed any hopes of a sensational comeback, before Vicki Lozada and Katie Robinson added goals in stoppage time.
