I’ve been a fan and disciple of for decades. Ron Greenwood and the late great John Lyall. I was brought up West Ham style. What immediately stands out is the integrity shown by both managers, both in their style of football and in their young blood.

It’s no surprise, then, that the soccer currently shown doesn’t register as highly entertaining, to say the least.
I’m not so much against the counter-attacking style as I appreciate that football has come a long way since the 1980s and tactics are much more diverse today. It’s about executing how we play.
It’s slow, deliberate, methodical and full of poor passes as other teams find it easy to press us. As I said before, I will be happy if I can play as well as I did when we finished in 6th place, where I felt like I could fight back with my speed and flair.
I’m hoping the same could happen when Paqueta returns, and even more if we can get a decent left-sided player in the summer and miraculously keep our current front three. It will be.
The rest of the complaints often heard about Moyes are that he doesn’t give young players much game time, but there are young players who have gone on to achieve greater things either straight from the academy or through limited first-team action. Is there one?
The only two who made it out were Deck and Ben. So if he thinks he’s good enough, he’ll play a young player.
Substitutions are another favorite groaner, but if you look at our record under Moyes, it hasn’t held us back too much. That said, I’m still troubled by how much time Nolan seems to spend communicating his job to players heading towards the tablet.
When it comes to transfers, we fans always moan and always want more…..or sometimes less.
Moise has quite a few puppies; It sometimes feels like every good contract is the fault of Sullivan, Steiten, his agent, someone other than the manager, and every bad contract is the fault of Moyes and him alone.
Even Lyall, who signed and developed some real gems, had his share of failures… McKnight, McQueen, Kelly and Radford are the names that immediately come to mind.
