Air India, backed by the Tata Group, today introduced a new in-flight safety video for passengers, ‘Safety Mudra’, inspired by India’s rich culture and folk art forms.

The video has been meticulously crafted to engage passengers, showcase the diversity and depth of Indian culture, and convey important safety information, Air India said in a statement.
“This video integrates mudras and dance expressions and safety instructions from eight diverse dance forms (Bharatnatyam, Bihu, Kathak, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, Ghoomar and Giddha) from across the country.” said.
Each distinctive dance form presents a specific set of instructions and informs passengers in an engaging and culturally immersive way.
‘Safety Mudras’ was developed in collaboration with the trio of McCann Worldgroup’s Prasoon Joshi, musician Shankar Mahadevan and filmmaker Bharatbala.

This safety video will first be accessible on Air India’s recently introduced A350 aircraft, which features state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment screens. The system will be gradually introduced to other Air India aircraft in the future.
