A mum has revealed how her ninth weight loss journey helped her save money on clothes.
Katie Chadwick, 37, gained a lot of weight after bingeing on takeout three or four times a week. She often treated herself to a large Domino’s pizza.
A self-confessed secret eater, he ate an entire bag of biscuits and drank a Ben and Jerry’s every night. The mother of two tried quick-fix diets, but nothing worked.

At her heaviest, Katie was in 19th place wearing a UK size 24. However, it wasn’t until October 2021 that her mother decided to start her makeover.
A home caregiver knew she had to make a change when one of her obese patients died due to her weight. She asked her doctor for help, but her doctor said she would qualify for gastric bypass in the UK.
But there was a five-year waiting list. After becoming “overly obsessed” with having her surgery, she booked the surgery abroad in January 2022 at a weight loss Riga clinic in Latvia.
The surgery was a success and Katie saw her weight ‘fall off’, dropping a whopping 9lb 4lb in a year, and even shelled out a £6,000 flight to Lithuania for a tummy tuck and breast reduction. did.
Katie currently weighs 9lb 6lb and wears a UK size 6. She loves shopping in the teen section and saving money on clothes.
A full-time carer from Sussex said: “Everyone noticed how happy I was after the surgery. My father-in-law said it was like my demons had been removed.”
“I’m actually shopping in the kids section right now. It’s really amazing. I always find kids versions of adult clothes, so I never get confused and I get them for half the price.”

She continued to gain weight while pregnant with her 17-year-old daughter Faith and then her 8-year-old son Rupert. She was so self-conscious that she often ate in secret.
If she was working from home, I would often buy her a cup of donuts to have with her tea. For dinner, she gets 3 to 4 takeout dishes a week.
After the death of an overweight patient, Katie decided to change herself. Not wanting to wait five years for her stomach surgery, she booked herself a private surgery abroad.
Now, post-surgery, Katie can still eat “whatever” she wants, but her meals are much smaller and limited to moderation.
The weight loss has allowed her to comfortably fit into an adult size 6 or a children’s size 13-14. She concluded: “Having gastric bypass was not a decision I made lightly. It was my last resort.
“I would encourage anyone considering it to research and read reviews of all the surgeons at the clinic.
“This is a big lifestyle change and you have to know what you’re getting into. The money you save on clothes alone is worth it!”
