Super Eagles coach Jose Peceiro has confirmed that goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will undergo late fitness training ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations AFCON quarter-finals against Palancas Negras (Angola) on Friday, February 2. He said he would be taking a test.
Peseiro made this known to reporters at a press conference in Abidjan on Thursday, saying a decision would be made later today.
He said if the goalkeeper fails to score, Francis Uzoho will be used in his place.
The coach said he trusts them because he trusts all of the goalies in camp.
The Portuguese tactician said the team is ready for the task ahead.
“It will be a tough game, but our team will play with maximum concentration, great determination and organization.
“We’re playing against good teams, not big names,” Peseiro said.
