Nine people have been injured in a suspected acid attack in Clapham, south London.
Acting on information from the Metropolitan Police, authorities responded to the scene in Lesser Avenue SW4, Lambeth, at around 7:25pm (Japan time). Nine people were injured in the incident, including a woman, her two children, and three police officers.
Authorities are currently searching for the suspect and have sent a helicopter to assist in the search.
Three passersby are believed to have been injured themselves after trying to help the woman and children. Superintendent Alexander Castle said in a news release that the responding officer’s injuries appear to be minor.

Castle said authorities will release more information about the victim’s condition as more information becomes available.
“Testing is underway to determine what the substance is, but at this stage we believe it is a corrosive substance,” Castle said.

London Ambulance Service said in a written statement that it was called to the scene at around 7.29pm and sent a number of personnel, including two incident response officers, three ambulance crews and members of the Hazardous Area Response Team. Ta.

“A man was seen fleeing the scene. We are using resources across the Met to apprehend this individual and work is ongoing to establish what led to this horrific incident.” he stated.
A man who witnessed the attack told Sky News he then ran into his home, scooped up water and poured it on the woman’s face. At one point, he said, he even tried to chase the assailant down the road.
He and his partner then went to the hospital, as did the children. Because she thought some of her substance was also splashed on her face.
