The convicted sex offender and asylum seeker is being hunted for allegedly throwing a chemical substance at a “vulnerable” mother and her two daughters, at least 83 minutes after the brutal attack. It successfully traveled 7 miles through central London.
Abdul Shokur Ezedi, 35, attacked the family of three with an as-yet-unknown alkaline chemical at 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday night.
His bout with the disease left his 31-year-old mother and daughters, ages 8 and 3, in hospital with life-changing injuries. His condition is said to be stable.
The Metropolitan Police, which is currently searching for Ezzedi, tonight released a photo of the suspect, who was last seen at a Tesco in north London, with a serious injury to his right eye.
CCTV footage taken at 8.48pm last night shows Ezzedi, wearing a blue and white top and black hoodie, with a serious injury to his right eye and covered in blood.
This still photo was taken at Tesco on Caledonian Road, which is the branch closest to King’s Cross. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said the man had come to buy bottled water.
The force announced earlier this evening: “We are now releasing images of Abdul Shokur Ezedi, who was last seen at 20:48 on January 31 at Caledonian Road, N1.” .
“The image was taken from a Tesco store, where Ezedi is believed to have purchased a bottle of water. He exited the store and turned right.
“The image shows Ezedi with what appears to be a significant wound on the right side of his face. This is what makes him distinctive.”
It was revealed tonight that he is a former asylum seeker who entered the UK in the back of a lorry and sexually assaulted him just two years after his stay application was rejected twice.
He entered the UK in 2016 but just two years later was found guilty of sexual assault and exposure at Newcastle Crown Court and given a suspended sentence and an unpaid work order, completing his sentence in 2020. did.
Despite his criminal history, he managed to successfully apply for asylum by having a priest prove that he had converted to Christianity.
Locals from the leafy Clapham suburb where the attack took place have shed light on how the horrific incident unfolded.
Harrowing footage from the scene showed a 31-year-old mother and her eight-year-old daughter standing with their hands over their faces in front of the man’s car at around 7.25pm.
The suspect was then seen intentionally driving towards the mother, hitting her, then getting out of the car and pulling the 3-year-old girl from the back seat.
Horrified witnesses said the suspect threw the child over his head “like a ragdoll” and then slammed him to the ground.
“He was throwing the girl on the floor as if she were in a wrestling ring,” said one local resident.
Another horrified witness said: “Like the Hulk, he picked her up and threw her on the floor, picked her up again and threw her on the floor.”
Both the mother and her 3-year-old child suffered “life-changing injuries.”
The older child was wearing a school uniform and suffered bruises and burns. All three remained in the hospital tonight.
“Her lips were black,” one witness said of the mother’s severe wounds. Her face was really burned and she looked like she had been skinned. ”
Three women and a man in his 50s also rushed to the scene with minor burns, while five police officers were also taken to hospital. All were subsequently discharged from the hospital.
Shannon Christie was among those injured. She recalled: “They were shouting ‘Help! Help!’ The little one was thrown to the floor. It was aggressive. he threw her to the floor. Then he picked her up and threw her down again.
“That’s when I ran over and picked her up because I wasn’t looking.”
“I couldn’t see anything on her clothes, but there was something in her coat that had transferred to me. She landed on her face. There were scratches, bruises.
“Then I saw my mom. Her face was red and in pain. She had her eyes closed and was screaming, ‘I can’t see!’
“That’s when I realized something had been thrown at her. So I called someone to get water. Her lips turned black. It was all over her face. Instantly, my face and arms started to tingle.
“I knew something was wrong because my lips started burning. I ran into the house and washed my arms and face.”
“I saw him ram his car into her,” said another resident, Mohamed Ilyas. He hit her with her car, and then her child went and knocked on the door and said, “Mom!” Mama! ” and knocked on the door.
“He then got out of the car, got in the back seat, dragged the other young child out and slammed him to the floor.”
After the brutal attack, the suspect tried to drive away but collided with a stationary vehicle. He then fled on foot in the direction of Clapham Common. A nearby surveillance camera captured him speeding down a neighborhood street in such a hurry that he tripped over a speed bump and tripped over a curb.
His exact path to the Caledonian Road is currently unknown.
Police are currently searching the country to find Ezzedi, who they say has links to Newcastle.
Abdul Shokur Ezzedi has not been seen at his address in Newcastle for about six months, neighbors told MailOnline.
He was last known to be living in a communal terraced house on Dilston Road in the Arthur’s Hill area of the city.
According to neighbors, the house had a high turnover of tenants, and few people remembered him.
But Mohammad Hussein Nazari, 24, who works at his family’s grocery store, said he remembered Ezzedi, who lived in the area, but thought he was a single man.
He said, “I saw him in the area, and he came over every now and then.”
“He is Afghan and I thought he was single because I never saw him with a partner or family and he was always alone.
“He seemed like a normal, harmless guy, certainly not the kind of person you would associate with something like this.
“He was often around, but I haven’t seen him in the last six or seven months.”
“There are a lot of long-term residents on this street, but there are a few houses where tenants come and go all the time, and that house is one of them,” said a neighbor. New people move in so regularly that it’s impossible to keep track of who lives there. ”
MailOnline can reveal tonight that Ezzedi has recently been living in a hostel on Wilfred Street in Newcastle’s biker district.
It is run by Tyne Housing Association, which aims to find homes for homeless or vulnerable people.
One resident said: “I often see him walking around during the day, but usually by himself. I don’t remember ever seeing him with his wife or partner.”
Garage worker Michael Vinks, 37, works across the street from the hostel.
He said: “He came in a while ago and talked to my boss about the possibility of buying a car, but nothing came together.”
Bilal Khan, owner of Billy’s Garage in Byker, near Mr Ezzedi’s last known address, said the alleged attacker was “relentless” when he tried to buy Ezzedi’s car last summer. .
Khan said: “He approached me last year and asked if I had a car for sale. There was one that he was interested in, so I told him the price. He’s a very persistent type of person. I don’t forgive things easily.
“He was going back and forth to me about the car, and I told him, ‘Here’s my price.’
Mr Khan said Mr Ezzedi lived in a nearby half-house and did not want to do business with its residents. “I try to stay away from people like that,” he said.
Negotiations over the car ended without a sale last summer, and Mr Khan said he had not seen Ezzedi since around Christmas or New Years.
Asked if he was worried the suspect would return to Newcastle, Mr Khan said: “I don’t think so.” If they know the police and media are after them, they will stay away unless they get caught. ”
