New research has revealed the top places across Scotland to visit with your loved one this Valentine’s Day.
February 14th is just around the corner, and couples across the country are probably thinking about how best to spend the holiday. Whether you’re looking to go on a romantic staycation or just want a cozy night in, there’s no wrong way to celebrate.
If you haven’t finalized your Valentine’s Day plans yet, there’s still plenty of time to decide. To narrow down your choices, Deal Points’ travel experts researched: The most Instagrammable hotspots to visit on February 14th.
Topping the list, compiled based on Instagram hashtag data, is Loch Lomond. Britain’s largest body of water by surface area and one of Scotland’s most spectacular natural wonders, the loch has been tagged with a total of 616,507 hashtags, according to experts.
Located within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, Loch Lomond is known as a top destination for animal lovers, thanks to attractions such as Lomond Bird of Prey Center and Sea Life Lomond Aquarium. Boat tours are also available, allowing you to get out on the water with your loved one and take in the stunning views of your surroundings.
There are plenty of scenic hiking routes around Loch Lomond, allowing you and your partner to enjoy a quiet, romantic walk. From short, moderate trails to full-day adventures, all hikes around the lake have one thing in common: spectacular, tranquil views.
Meanwhile, other beautiful spots on the list are Ben Nevis and the Isle of Mull, which have a total of 275,764 hashtags and 167,387 total Instagram hashtags, according to travel experts. Rounding out the top five are Dunvegan Castle and Fort William on the Isle of Skye, with 43,996 and 20,882 hashtags respectively.
