Brinkit, owned by Zomato, has rejected a customer’s request to act as a delivery agent for Valentine’s Day. This update was shared by Blinkit on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter).
On Wednesday, a user interacted with Blinkit’s chat support to become a delivery agent to deliver flowers and gifts ordered from the app’s Valentine’s Day collection to his girlfriend.
Blinkit shared a screenshot of a customer’s chat and quoted in a post to X, “Sorry, we can’t.”
Another X user noticed a difference in Blinkit’s user interface for singles and couples on Valentine’s Day. The user shared two videos on the microblogging site, claiming that the streaming app is offering variations in search options for singles and couples this Valentine’s Day.
The app’s “Single” mode provides users with a variety of search options, including socks, gum, ice, pain cream, band-aids, pet treats, tissues, books, massagers, and single bed sheets.
The ‘Couples’ mode of the app offers users gifts, roses, teddy bears, chocolates, perfumes, jewellery, rings, candles, cards, condoms and more with search options.
Replying to a user, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa said, “Fun fact: the person who thought of single mode is not actually single.”
Mr Dhindsa also praised the special gift packages launched by the app for Valentine’s Day gifts.
In another tweet, Dhindsa said, “32% of orders placed today are gift orders! We’ve also launched a brand new flow on the app and special packaging bags for Valentine’s Day gifts. These bags are pretty cool! I can see it,” he said.
Zomato also wished to feature a man from Delhi on the micro-blogging site.
“Happy Valentine’s Day to Tarun from Delhi who sent cakes to 16 different addresses today,” Zomato said on X
Swiggy, another food delivery partner, promised X users Valentine’s Day this year as they were disappointed that they didn’t get one.
“If you want, we can be your Valentine,” Swiggy posted on X.
Rohit Kapoor, Food MarketPlace CEO, Swiggy, also provided insights into the sales made by delivery companies on Valentine’s Day.
“Last year, Swiggy achieved 271 cakes per minute (CPM) on V-day. India has already broken that record by recording 309 CPM at the 12 noon peak,” Kapoor said in a post on X. Ta.
“Love is blooming (and booming!) at @SwiggyInstamart. Here are the top 10 items that are trending the most today. The roses and the plant in the middle of the card are my personal favorites!”Kapoor He said this in another tweet.
