A new beauty salon has opened in Bourne End, giving customers the chance to brush up on the latest industry trends and treatments.
Your Beauty Salon, located at 65 The Parade, opened on February 1 following renovations that included the construction of two therapy rooms.
Salon owner Lyudmila “Lucy” Kuzmina, 55, said she had already received “a lot of positive feedback.”
“Bourne End has a lovely community, it’s a very upmarket village and the location is great for business,” she said.
“We participated in local neighborhood apps and people said they wanted us to succeed because it was something that was needed in the area.
“My team is small but really good and really happy with the work we do. The people who come to us have given us a lot of positive feedback.”
Although Lucy has a background in healthcare, she said she had always been interested in starting a beauty business and had been studying to gain her qualifications.
She said: “The goal of my business is to provide what I call ‘nose-to-toe’ service to my clients.
“If you want your hair done, we’ll do it. If you want your eyebrows done, we’ll do massages, manicures, and pedicures as well.”
Additionally, Your Hair and Beauty Salon offers unique treatments such as hydrotherapy massage beds, thermal paraffin glove massages, and vitamin injections.
Lucy said the salon’s manager, Emily Nessing, is a registered nurse who previously worked in the A&E department and has around 15 cosmetic qualifications and the training required to perform injectable procedures.
Adding, “When I adopted Emily, I said: I must have done something good in a past life to find you.”
Men are also welcome to come to the salon. Lucy said her husband, Derrick, gave her vitamin B12 injections to improve her hair and nails to help her recover from fatigue while renovating her interior.
“We already have regular customers who come in for B12,” Lucy says. “I think there’s a five-week course and then you can come back every month for more.”
The beauty salon is open Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
