According to Runner, Daniel Fairbrother, 34, was stopped by police in Stevenage for stealing a fridge.
Mr Fairbrother, an orc trader, hopes to break the world record for the fastest marathon transporting white goods.
The runner is hoping to raise money for Diabetes UK by carrying a 27.5kg fridge on his back in honor of his best friend of 15 years, Sam Wilson, 34, who has type 1 diabetes.
He added that Hertfordshire Police officers quickly realized he was not a fridge thief and were impressed with their diligence.
Stevenage’s father said: “It was pitch black and night. A police car was driving past me very slowly. I had a hunch that maybe they didn’t like what they saw, so they spun around and pulled up next to me. Blue. The lights came on and all traffic stopped.
“I was red in the face and embarrassed, and I thought, ‘Can you believe me?'” Will they think I broke the fridge?
“They said, ‘Is that a refrigerator on your back?’
After Fairbrother explained his 46-mile challenge, the officer joked, “Did you know you can order from Curry’s and they’ll deliver it to you?”
Fairbrother said the officer rolled down his window to shake his hand and wish him luck.
He added: “I would be more worried if they saw me carrying the fridge and didn’t stop and investigate.” It was really interesting. ”
So far, the keen fridge runner has raised £4,284 of the £10,000 target.
Fairbrother explained that he started running two and a half years ago and has since run half marathons, marathons and even ultramarathons.
The fastest marathon with equipment was 4 hours, 53 minutes, 10 seconds, and he was inspired after seeing a Marine break the world record on the news last year.
She added: “Sam was the first diabetic I ever knew, but I didn’t know how diabetes affected people. I’m not a doctor and I don’t intend to cure diabetes, but I’m not a doctor and I don’t intend to cure diabetes, but I’m not a doctor and I don’t intend to cure diabetes, but I’m not a doctor and I don’t intend to cure diabetes, but I have You can do stupid things to raise money.”
Mr Fairbrother’s world record feat nearly faltered at the first hurdle when he was initially denied a place to run the London Marathon with Diabetes UK.
