A man has died after falling from the Tate Modern Museum in London, the Metropolitan Police said.
Visitors were reportedly evacuated from the gallery at around 10:45 this morning after a man fell to the ground. The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: “Police were called at 10.45am to reports of a man falling from the Tate Modern in Bankside, SE1. Officers from London Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service responded to the incident. attended.
“Despite the diligent efforts of medical workers at the scene, the man sadly passed away at the scene. Investigations are underway to identify the man and notify his next of kin. A cordon remains in place. This death is currently being treated as an unexpected death, which is not considered suspicious. ”
A cordon remained in place at the scene Friday afternoon. The gallery, one of the most visited museums in the world, told visitors on X that it would be closed for the rest of the day due to the incident.
