Conor Bradley gave an emotional interview after Liverpool beat Chelsea 4-1 on Wednesday. The right-back was sensational.
Conor Bradley started at right-back in Liverpool’s win over Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday. This was undoubtedly the biggest and best performance of his career to date. And it will take some beating.
Bradley set up the first goal with a pass to Diogo Jota, but admitted the latter did most of the work. But there is no doubt that the second goal was worthy of praise, as the Northern Irishman shrugged off Chelsea’s defense and finished like an experienced striker.
But Bradley didn’t stop there, feeding in a great cross to Dominik Szoboszlai, who headed home.
The 20-year-old became the youngest player to score and assist in a Premier League match under Jurgen Klopp. Bradley becomes the youngest player to achieve that goal for Liverpool since Raheem Sterling in 2014. Interestingly, Bradley is the guy who ran through to score.
Bradley is also, as you probably guessed, the youngest Liverpool player to register two assists in a Premier League game since Trent Alexander-Arnold in 2019. And to continue the statistical theme with a fun couple, this season he has more assists than he has in the Premier League. He has scored more Premier League goals than Bruno Fernandes and Anthony.
So how does he feel after that? Speaking to TNT Sports, Bradley admitted he feels like he’s in a dream right now.
“This is a very proud moment. It’s something I’ve dreamed of for a long time,” Bradley said. “I feel like I’m in a dream. I can’t believe it.
“I couldn’t believe my goal went in. I didn’t know what to do. I went to the corner and slid my knee. It was amazing. It was really amazing.”
“Trent’s injury was unfortunate. I just tried to take advantage of my chances. I think I did pretty well.”
That’s an understatement. Liverpool have a gem in Bradley who will be part of this team for a long time to come.
